Enjoy a cycling holiday where you stay in the same charming hotel for 5 nights. This gives you more time to relax and to concentrate on fully exploring the island of Møn without the hazzle of packing and unpacking luggage.

Both island of Møn and the tiny island of Nyord have been designated the first ever dark sky park and community in the Nordic region.This undisturbed night darkness will give you the best opportunity to see a sky full of stars and the Milky Way accross the sky

Cycle through small quiet villages and along fields with grazing cows and unpoilt nature. 

Each day's stage will take you to one or more local churches where you will be amazed by the well-preserved frescos.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Stege

Check-in to your hotel in Stege. You are welcome to arrive early and leave your luggage at the reception, giving you more time to get aquainted with Stege.

Jump on your bikes for a bike ride around the local area and explore the town of Stege with its narrow streets and local specialty shops, cafes, restaurants and museums. 

Day 2: Damsholte Church. 20 km

After your breakfast you will be handed today's lunch packet, your cycling map, a detailed tour description as well as other tour information.

Today's cycle route will take you to the small town of Damsholte where we recommend a visit inside Denmark's only village church in rococo style built in 1743. There is a special story connected to the building of this church which you can read about in your tour material.

Continue your bike ride past the old sugar factory before taking a break and enjoying the beautiful views overlooking the coast lagoon Stege Nor.

Day 3: Elmelunde Church, Borre Church and Magleby Church. 48 km

Enjoy your breakfast before heading out on today's bike stage, which will take you to the three churches Elmelund, Borre and Magleby Church. All three churches have well-preserved frescos, decorated by the so-called Elmelunde Master.

On your route you will cycle through small idyllic villages. If you are up for it you can extend today's stage. We recommend visiting the geocenter at Møn's Klint and a walk down the stairs to the beach from where you have a fantastic view of the white cliffs.

Day 4: Nyord Church on the car-free island of Nyord. 29 km

After breakfast it is time to pack your cyclebag and lunch and head out to explorethe flat lands and the peninsula of Ulvshale formed of flint from Møn's white cliffs. Stop to climb the bird tower to enjoy the view of the rich local bird life. You might also be tempted to take a dip in the sea from the family friendly white sandy beach Ulvshale Strand.

Cross the bridge to the car-free island of Nyord and continue to the distinctive octogonal Nyord Church dating from 1846. In the small charming village of Nyord time seems to stand still, life takes place in another pace. From one of the street booths outside family homes you can buy locally produced marmalade or snaps, so remember to bring some cash on today's tour.

Take a break and enjoy your lunch on the Camøno bench at Nyord harbour before heading back to Stege along the coastline and past curious grazing cows.

After a more relazed day of cycling you might want to treat yourself with a lovely 3-course dinner at one of the local restaurants in Stege.

Day 5: Keldby Church. 19 km

After breakfast you cycle to Keldby Church. The bike ride to Keldby Church goes south of Stege Nor, through small villages overlooking the Nor. Enjoy your lunch at Museumsgården before continuing to Keldby Church.

The trip back to Stege will take you through small villages and peaceful forests.

Day 6: Check-out

After breakfast its time to continue your journey or head back home.
